Bison still roam a precious few western state locations in the United States, in particular, Yellowstone National Park. These surprisingly agile creatures have thick beards which distinguishes them from the buffalo. Buffalo can be found in South Asia and Africa. The term buffalo however, is often used symbiotically when referring to bison, America’s iconic symbol of the great West.
